My Valentine Must Haves for 2017!

Can you believe January is already almost over?  It's been a solid month and I'm determined to keep things going strong!  Already looking forward to Valentine's day and all of the things you will need to stay on track AND enjoy the sweetness of the season!  

1. Pink Ice LipSense.  I've always been a gloss hoarder, but this is my latest super find.  Color stays on all day without reapplication and has been seriously healing my lips from the damage of Chapstick and other wax based products over the years.  Want to try it at a discount?  Contact me to find out how! 

2. ShaperX Womens Cross Back Sports Bra.  When you're trying to convince yourself to get your workout in, some super cute apparel certainly can't hurt.  Loving the criss cross back design.  Comes in several colors too! 

3. Bikini Pink S'well bottle.  I seriously can't say enough about my S'well.  I fought it for a long time and thought it was an overrated marketing ploy until I actually got one, and let me tell you, it was worth every penny.  I'll save my spiel for another post, but just trust me when I tell you.. you need one. 

4. Chocolate Shakeology.  You want to enjoy the sweetness of the season without all the junk and calories.  Guess what... you can!  I'm not kidding when I tell you the stuff is delicious.  But unlike that box of chocolates, it will be the healthiest thing you eat all day.  I prefer the vegan chocolate; husband prefers the regular kind.  Take your pick!

5. Sensationail gel polish in Kitten Heel.  Yes, I am still doing my own nails with the same gel polish light I bought 5 years ago. Best $30 or so I ever spent.  Great results and super easy to do!

Healthy Crockpot Cashew Chicken

Here we go friends!  Time to start another week!  Yesterday was spent in my comfiest clothes, with my sweetest munchkins, catching up on messages and prepping for a successful week ahead.  So let's get it going!  

One of the things I love to do on Sundays is set the crock pot up with something hearty and delicious.  Something to warm the soul on a rainy, winter day, and also that I can use to meal prep lunches for the week ;)  A busy, working mama has no time to mess around, so if I'm going to fix a meal, it better be good more than once!  

This crock pot cashew chicken is one of my favorite go-to recipes and one of my husband's favorites as well!  Heck, even the twins were shoveling it in (I just made sure to remove any specks of red pepper from theirs before I gave it to them).

Go ahead and give it a go, then share with friend as well!

2-3 lbs. chicken breasts, sliced into pieces
1/4 cup flour
Black pepper to taste
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp. ketchup
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. brown sugar
sprinkle of red pepper flakes
sprinkle of garlic powder


1. Coat chicken pieces with flour and black pepper and sautee in oiled pan until white on all sides.

2. Place chicken in crock pot and cover with remaining ingredients EXCEPT for cashews.

3. Cook on low 3-4 hours (or you can do high for an hour and a half) stirring every once in a while.

4. Add cashews at the very end.  Stir and serve over brown rice with broccoli or your favorite veggie!

5 Places to Look for Inspiration

I mentioned last week in a video on my page, that one of my secrets to making 2017 the best year ever was to seek out the things that inspire you.  People, places, activities... whatever it is, intentionally tune into these things. It will change your life.  

But how do you know what inspires you?  It's a feeling really.  It's the things that fill you with positive thoughts and hope for your future.  The feeling that you can conquer the world.... because YOU CAN... if you keep the right mindset and remain inspired ;)  

So where do I find so much so called inspiration?  I can only speak for myself, but here are some ideas to get you started...

1. Your friends and coworkers.  Primarily the ones you aspire to be more like.  My friend has an aunt who is 50-something going on 29.  I'm telling you, she's a fox.  And to top it all off she's a magical fairy of happiness and positivity.  When we go through a rough patch, we've made it a point to always think of her and how her life has turned out.  We also ask her questions and pay attention to her advice.  People don't become who they are purely by chance, so when you meet a person you admire, tell them.  Then pay very close attention.  

2. Social media.  I do not care if social media is just a "highlight reel".  If you're reel is inspiring, I want to see it.  Period.  Find the people you jive with, whether you know them or not, and follow along.  Like it or not, most of us are attached to our phones like it's an actual appendage, so make sure you are looking at things that make you feel good!  

3. Books and podcasts.  I have to admit, despite the collection I've acquired, I still SUCK at books.  Like I have only finished probably 5 whole books in my entire life suck.  It's definitely something I am working on this year because I realize that anyone who has achieved great things has read a lot of books.  Thankfully I've probably written enough to make up for that.  But I digress.  Books, or in my case, podcasts, do a lot of good and the self help business is booming.  So go help yourself, by all means. 

4. Your family.  Yes, I know they drive us crazy sometimes, but hopefully there are at least some people in your family you would do just about anything for.  They are your WHY.  Why are you doing everything that you do?  When I think about the life I want to create for my family - for my husband and my children - that's a lot of inspiration right there.  I mean, have you seen my twins?  How can they NOT uplift you?  

5.  Your past.  Ok, this probably sounds weird, especially if you have not yet done the things you want to do.  It's easy to dwell on the things you didn't achieve, the times when God seemingly forgot you, or when luck just didn't go your way.  But you probably have one thing.  You probably have at least one moment in your life where you felt like the f*cking King of the Pridelands, capable of everything and anything, and like you just crushed your goal like the badass mama jamma that you are.  Go back to that moment.  Figure out what you did.  Then, do it again.

The Future of Fitness

Eeeeeek!  You guys!  I am bursting at the seams!  The future of fitness is here and finally....
