Five Things I'm Grateful for Today

One:  School delays!  Yes, I get to sleep in an extra 2 hours today.  Why?  Because it's too cold.  I'm glad the people in charge agree.  I'll take it without complaint!

Two:  My happiness.  You'd think this cold would have me feeling like Grumpy McGrumpertin, but instead I'm smiling from the inside it.  It could be probably is the munchkins.  They're so cute I can already tell and I'm smiling from ear to ear.  Best part?  They go everywhere with me so I never have to leave them behind!  (yet.)

Three:  The man of my dreams.  Can you believe I get to be married to him??  This week he went out and shoveled snow while I napped.  He kisses me good morning and good night every single day.  He never lets a day go by without telling me how much he loves me... like actually says it. I have a feeling these men are hard to come by.  Dang I am one lucky little chick.

Four:  Supportive parents.  I have to admit they were never in a hurry for me to have children, and I often wondered if they even wanted me to, but both of them are so over the moon excited now, and it warms my heart with relief.  I know I won't be left on my own to figure it all out.  I know they're ready to help however they can.  It will be hard, but I know I have people to count on through all of my challenges ahead.

Five:  A 20 minute commute.  After years of driving an hour to work, and often staying at my parents house instead of driving home, I'm finally feeling settled and reaping the benefits of working close to home.  I get to make dinner for my husband and I almost nightly and I get to kiss him goodbye every morning before I leave.  It definitely gives life a sense of purpose and makes me feel like I am really living and thriving in the community that I live in.  Not to mention, with twins on the way,  I couldn't even imagine still driving an hour... Everything happens at the right time I suppose!

Take a minute to think of something you're grateful for today!

Guess Who's on the Way?!

Writing has been difficult lately and for a good reason.  Do you know how hard it is to find interesting, authentic things to write about when the one thing that has been consuming your life must remain top secret??  It's pretty tough, but I'm sure all you mamas out there know the feeling of bursting with excitement and not being able to tell a soul.  Well, at 12 weeks, I decided I'm past that now.  I'm completely elated and I don't care who knows it.  Double elated actually.

We're expecting TWINS!!!!

About a month and a half ago, we went in for our first doctor's appointment and were completely floored when the sonographer told us there were two sacs, two placentas, and two heartbeats.  I'm pretty sure my husband might have pooped his pants a little bit.  He was stunned scared.  I was stunned amazed.  And after about a week of "I can't believe it", it finally started to sink in and we could not feel more blessed.

I'm nearing the end of my first trimester and clearly have no idea what I have in store, so look forward to plenty of weird, awkward, and overly enthusiastic posts from moi in the coming months years.  It's a crazy feeling knowing your entire world is about to change, but I know I'm as ready as I'll ever be.  Twins.  Really?!  How did I get so lucky?!  Thank you God.  I already can't wait to meet them!

Things You Need to Do This Week...

For Your Body...
You need to check out Class Pass!  Personally, it's tough for me to commit to one type of exercise.  I like to switch it up, try new things, work my muscles in different ways.  Class Pass allows me to visit multiple studios throughout the month without officially joining any of them.  Class Pass acts as my membership for 3 classes at nearly every fitness studio in my area.  It has contributed to my recent obsession with Pure Barre, although I'm sure there are a lot of other new experiences to come.  Keep posted, I'll fill you in with all the deets!  In the meantime, It's the New Twenty readers can register through my link to skip the wait list and start using your Class Pass asap!  Try it out and let me know what you think!

For Your Relationship... You need to treat your husband yourself to some sexy Valentine treats, and I'm not talking about chocolate.  Enter below for your chance at $150 to spend at Victoria's Secret.  Because every 30-something knows it's a key wardrobe staple to keep your relationship young!

For Your Mind...
Take a minute to sit back, relax, and appreciate the things that really matter.  I'll explain later, but this weekend really opened my eyes to this.  We have a tendency to stress out about money, career, checking everything off of our personal goals list... but when it comes down to it, that's not really what matters in life.  Appreciate all that you have and thank God for your blessings.  Then, pray for those who really need them.  It's actually pretty uplifting to realize you don't have to do it all to have it all.

Wedding Flashback: The After Party!

Though the entire thing was exactly what I wanted, I have to admit, the after party was the icing on the cake.  We got this hotel suite for what seemed like peanuts and packed it full of friends and family... overlooking Camden Yards... during the O's vs Yankees game.  Awesome.  Go ahead and say it.  Unfortunately this was past photographer's hours so I'll have to rely on our trusty instagraming friends for these ones.  Enjoy!

Spotted by a co-worker who was attending the game in the stadium.  Can you see us on the top balcony?

My best friend from college!  Isn't she pretty?!  Personalized Baltimore Mrs. glass from Krafty Mama Boutique.

And my friend who takes great pictures with me :)  Here we are sharing a moment and enjoying the game!
After a while I changed outfits and partied it up with some of our bests!  Glitter Mrs. shirt found here.

And woke up the next morning to this amazing view!

Check out the rest of our wedding extravaganza below!

I Belong Under Blankets. Permanently.

This basically describes my free time as of late.  Probably why I haven't posted many weekend updates this year, because I'm obsessed with my bed, and that is nothing exciting to write about.  Perhaps it is winter or the fact that the hubs and I just recently got a TV in our bedroom, but I suddenly feel zero need to get out of flannel pajamas and furry socks for any reason besides to make breakfast or run an occasional errand.  I'm hibernating.  Leave me alone.

I did manage to drag myself out of bed for a couple hours on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, however.  I spent Saturday afternoon at Orioles Fan Fest collecting autographs from various players and coaches.  No, they're not for me or anyone that I know.  They are prizes for my husband's baseball camp that he runs over the spring and summer and will surely make some little leaguer happy when he wins them.

On Sunday we went over to a friend's house and lounged around eating football snacks during pre game.

I made it through the first quarter before I decided I was tired and ready to go home.  To my bed.  Under my blankets.  So that's where I am right now.... :)

Happy Groundhog's Day friends.
