Faith & Fit Challenge Group Details!

March is coming and so is a new challenge group!  I have to say, all of these 70 degree February days have me prematurely excited for Spring and ready to break out the floral rompers, but I'll hold my horses.  I have a feeling winter is not through with us yet ;) I usually set my sights on Easter as an unofficial kickoff for Spring, as I continue to try to strengthen my connection to faith, I don't want to let Lent pass me by without seizing an opportunity to better myself and grow closer to the true purpose God intended for me.

The way it's worked out where my next group is starting on the first day of Lent, I decided to try something different.  Something slightly off course from the traditional meal planning, weight lifting motivation... to something entirely more powerful.  This next group with be a fusion of fitness and faith.  It's making a commitment to taking care of ourselves and strengthening the person God created us to be.  Since my girls were born, I have become a firm believer in my faith and it has changed my life beyond measure.  Join me in your own journey and learn how God is working in your corner, ready to hand you your every wish, and just waiting for your approval to release the flood gate of blessings!

Even if you have not been to church in years, if you are not totally convinced of the existence of Christ, if you feel like you've been forgotten or that God's plan for you is not the one you wanted, I invite you to plug in and refocus yourself with me.  Instead of giving something up, commit to giving in.  Commit to 6 weeks of daily devotionals and thought provoking reflections, aimed and helping you stay focused on the dreams that God has put in your heart, and actually taking steps to achieve them!

Throughout this group, I will be referencing the book, Rediscover Jesus.  It's an easy read and full of actionable questions and prompts. The priest at our church gave it out last year and now I want to share it with you.  You can order it online or there are plenty of audio download version as well.  And even if you don't want to read, you will still be able to participate in the group just fine!  I'm just letting you know where I am getting my content from!

As always, we will also focus on healthy eating habits, exercise, and overall wellness.  Those in my private group will receive personalized workout plans and exclusive tracking tools as well!  So what are you waiting for?  Comment or join the open group for all the details on how to join in.  We all could use a little Jesus, right?!

Healthier Multi Grain Waffles

Weekends are for breakfasts!  At least in my house it is.  A place probably like many other American households where daily breakfast with the fam is nonexistent and it's more like a cup of coffee and a protein bar while stressfully rushing everyone out the door.  Weekends are our time.  We wake up on our own, enjoy conversation, and start the day off the right way - with these multigrain waffles that are surprisingly sweet and toddler approved!  Honestly, I almost prefer these to the unhealthy kind because the textures make it all the more appealing.

I actually enjoyed them so much I forgot to take a picture until I was almost done, but here's the last little square..

Ingredients:
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups almond milk
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract

Add the dry ingredients first, wet ingredients second, mix it up and you're good to go!

Mix it all together and spoon into your waffle iron as you usually would!  Enjoy! xo
