Pre-Wedding Insanity: Keeping It All Together!

I said I’d be back Monday, but apparently I lied.  As well planned and detail free as I thought I’d kept things, it turns out that the week before your wedding is total insanity.  From having to go out to buy freaking envelopes for church payments to realizing you need bagels and orange juice for breakfast in the morning, the littlest errands keep coming up and turning my brain into a flustered foggy mess of which I’m not sure where to start.  Ready or not though, here it comes.  My wedding weekend!!!! And I know when all of the insanity dies down, I will be one happy happy girl to be married to my Prince Charming.

Last week I hit a breaking point. I was waking up grumpy every day and on the edge of tears at a time when I thought I’d be walking on cloud 9.  I was letting the stress get to me, and I made up my mind that it needed to stop.  That’s why I am refusing to let this pre-wedding week insanity drive me to the looney bin before making it down the aisle. I promise to do these things in the next 3 days as a single woman!

I will take care of myself.
I will relax with a facial mask, deep condition my hair, and get my 8 hours of beauty sleep nightly no matter what is going on.

I will exercise.
It will make me feel better about myself and my to-do list if I’ve broken a sweat at least once a day.  It’s not about looks this week, it’s about endorphins!

I will let the little things go.
Didn’t find the new shoes I wanted for the rehearsal?  Who gives a flying duck.  I’ll wear another pair.  Nobody will know and I’ll still look stunning because I’m bride, and that’s the rules.

I will say yes to happy hour.
Yesterday the “to do” list was far from complete, but when the fiance called and asked me if I wanted to grab a beer and some wings, it was just what I needed.

Well that’s it!  Wish me luck as I try to complete the last of the preparations before family starts arriving from out of town on Thursday!  I also have to give a shout out to my fellow July 12th bride, Lisa!  Go check out her wedding banner giveaway and it could be yours!

  3. EVERYTHING is going to work out in the end!!!!! No one cares about your shoes! Everyone is going to come and celebrate you and your new hubby, the little things that might not turn out the way you want them to don't matter one bit!!! I swear if/when I get married, the dress code will be = SWEAT PANTS! lol!

  4. Yes defnitely breathe and look at the bigger picture (you're getting married to your love) instead of getting bogged down by all the little things. Hope you have an amazing wedding day! Can't wait to hear about it.

  8. This is the best wedding week advice EVER! I remember freaking out so much the week before my wedding and finding so many little things to do that it was insane. I don't think Mark and I really even slept the Thursday before because we were finishing up so many DIY projects that had taken WAY longer than expected. I hope you had the most wonderful weekend and had the chance to enjoy it because it really does go by way too quickly!
