I Confess. I'm one of THOSE people.

I have a confession.

I shared before how I was struggling with my workouts, but now I have not been to the gym since before Thanksgiving.  And no, I have not been exercising at home or running the streets either.  I completely and totally have failed to exercise for nearly the past month.

In addition, I haven’t exactly been watching my diet.  We’ve had snow days the past two days which I’ve enjoyed with overly large breakfasts and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.  We even ordered Chinese food last night and I possibly ordered the most unhealthy thing on the menu: General Tso’s, with FRIED rice, and ate my entire egg roll.  It is a miracle that I am not 5,219,328 pounds.

And do you know what’s worse??  I’m not even sure I should say it.  You might reeeeeeally dislike me when I tell you this next part.....  My plan is to re-jump into a fitness routine and diet starting January 1st.

Yes folks, that’s right.  I am going to be one of those super duper annoying people that I have mentally cursed for years and years.  I’ll be contributing to the phenomenon I dread every year, when I get to the gym after school in January and it is so packed that I’m left scouring for any available machine.  “Just give up already,” I’d say.  “Leave the gym for the people who are serious about fitness!” I’d think.

Well sh*t.  Inserting foot into mouth now.

Why not start today, you ask?  Because I need a break.  I know I’ve heard the quotes saying “if you’re sick of starting over then stop giving up”.  I get it.  But I feel like I was getting into somewhat of an exercise rut.  I was bored and doing it more out of guilt than because I actually enjoyed it.  I’ve never been that type of gym goer before and it wasn’t really working for me.  So, I’m taking a break.  I’m confident I’ll be back in 2014 with some fresh tricks up my sleeve and a renovated attitude toward my own fitness.  Be ready.  It’s coming.

Until then, enjoy the holidays, the days spent in sweatpants, and all the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies you desire!

  3. I think you have legit reasons for not going to the gym because believe me, I've had those exact same reasons too.

I on the other hand, don't want to wait and want to start off the new year a little slimmer and more pep in my step. I lost two pounds when I checked the scale this morning so I'm getting my motivation :)

Thanks for linkin' up girlie! :)

    1. Wow, that is awesome! Yea, I may start a little earlier since I have the week between Xmas and New Years off, but we'll see. And I agree that it's easier to stay motivated once you start seeing results. So proud of ya!
