Valentine's Day Isn't Just for Lovers

Remember when I said I was getting all that cardio in because I knew I’d get sick eventually and it wouldn’t even be an option?  Well, it’s happening.  Thank God I had the weekend off from teaching because throat is killing me and breathing is somewhat problematic.

I did make plans with my girlfriends, however, to do a Valentine's Day girls night Saturday and I was determined to push through.  I’d been dying to try the new V-day doughnuts at Dunkin (that are probably thousands of calories a piece), so I got a couple for us to share.  If we cut them into pieces and each have a taste, it’s not so bad right? ;)

I also am obsessed with my Valentine cat mug from Target, so I wanted to get one for my bestest pals too.  They say “I love you a latte” and “You are tweet!”  Pretty clever, huh?  I filled them with some backs of Valentine Jelly Bellies and my favorite NYC nail polish.  It says it dries in 60 seconds, but I swear it’s dry in 30.  If you don’t have time for the gel, this is definitely the way to go.

We stuffed our faces with every food that is definitely not on our diets.  Thankfully our beach trip is still 4 months away.

Best of all, my BFF surprised me with this ring dish with MY (future) name on it!  It’s a special place to put my very special ring while washing dishes or while I’m in the shower.  I haven’t decided yet which place I’m going to keep it, but I know I want to show it off, so I’m leaning toward the kitchen!

Do you have special Valentine’s Day plans?
